One Stage Operation For Antenatally Ruptured Omphalocele

Abstract
|
|
|
Omphalocele is a rare congenital malformation in which herniated abdominal viscera through the
umbilical cord base is seen.
Because of the high mortality, Omphalocele was considered as serious clinical entity.
Emergency operative intervention was treatment of choice as soon as childbirth.
Operative result was poor as evidenced by literary review of Omphalocele cases of Korea, but we
experienced satisfactory result of antenatally ruptured Omphalocele cases by one stage operation.
Two cases of antenatally ruptured Omphalocele rare presented and literatures on the Omphalocele
are reviewed briefly.
